Factor XI deficiency
Factor XI deficiency is an autosomally inherited recessive disease. As with other bleeding disorders, affected animals are prone to prolonged clotting time. To date, the only breed known to have this disease is the Kerry Blue Terrier. The test we offer is based on the findings of Dr. Urs Giger at the University of Pennsylvania.
